The VSA is a public body under the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act. In addition to protecting the privacy of those it licenses and serves, it must be responsive to requests for access to records it holds. The VSA has never been investigated by the British Columbia Privacy Commissioner.

Privacy Access Requests by Year
The VSA processes requests for access to records in a timely manner and usually at no charge. Requesting parties have included other licensing bodies, government, motor dealers and consumer complainants.
