  • Issues:

    Mr. Aslam applied for a salesperson licence.
    Mr. Aslam has a criminal record, having pled guilty to trafficking in a controlled substance.
    Mr. Aslam’s recent conduct, while on parole.

  • Outcome:

    The Registrar found that:
    o Mr. Aslam had accomplished the trafficking to which he pled guilty by creating secret compartments in motor vehicles.
    o Mr. Aslam was a leader in the gang that orchestrated the trafficking.
    o Mr. Aslam attempted to mislead the Authority with respect to his level of involvement with the trafficking.
    o While on parole, Mr. Aslam had sold two motor vehicles and failed to properly document the sales or report them to his parole officer.
    o Mr. Aslam’s criminal history is relevant to his being licensed as a salesperson.
    o Mr. Aslam may be a target of gang violence, putting the public at risk of physical harm.
    o Mr. Aslam has not been and likely will not be rehabilitated.
    o Mr. Aslam is unsuitable to be licensed as a salesperson.
    The Registrar denied Mr. Aslam’s application to be licensed as a salesperson.
    The Registrar banned Mr. Aslam from applying to be a salesperson for seven (7) years.
